Last year Our Saviour’s started a new tradition of giving white gifts to help share the true meaning of Christmas. These gifts served as a reminder that Christmas is a time for giving and the greatest gift we were given was our savior Jesus Christ. The gifts are wrapped in white representing the purity of our new born king.   The gifts will be donated to St Paul’s Children’s Services in Tyler, OR a similar group supporting newborns. 

We collected about 25 "White Gifts" for newborns. Thank you so much for all the white gifts.  What a beautiful way to celebrate the birth of Jesus.  They will surely be appreciated by new parents.

There will be no Sunday School on December 26, 2021 and Jan 2, 2022.  Classes will resume on 9.

After a long hiatus, Prime Timers are back!  Our first meeting will be January 13th.  Naturally, we will have food, conversations and activities.  Watch your emails for more details in the near future.  If you have not received emails in the past and would like to receive emails about Prime Timers please let me know, burris.merry@gmail.com.

As a convenience to you, the church office has dated offering envelopes ready for  pick up in the Narthex. If you give a regular offering to OSLC you should have a box of 2022 envelopes on the table in the Narthex on Sunday. If you do not have one on the table please call/email our Administrative Assistant, Amanda Taylor: 903-561-1865 or amandataylor@oslctyler.org to receive your giving envelopes.   

As part of your year-end tax planning, take advantage of the charitable tax deduction for gifts made before December 31 and consider the variety of gift options available to you. Your gift to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church can make a great difference as we plan for and move into God’s mission in 2022.

As always, work closely with your tax and legal advisors to determine how any particular strategy will affect your overall tax situation. Contact Amanda Taylor at the church office 903-561-1865 or amandataylor@oslctyler.org by December 31 if you need help updating or creating an account for online giving or to advise her of any stock offering so that it will qualify as a donation in 2021. Amanda will coordinate with your financial advisor or broker to ensure the gift is properly received. If you choose to make a cash donation, please prepare your check and mail it so that your envelope is postmarked or received by the Church Office by December 31 to qualify as a gift in the year 2021. Contributions received in the offertory plate on January 2nd will be treated as 2022 gifts.
